The Trailblazers

Welcome to new teammates below! We are getting the band BACK(woods) together to celebrate independent, original music plus redeem and revitalize the festival that means so much to many of us for different reasons.

We hope you will get to know our team and explore ways to get involved in the process of “inching our way forward” in phases and towards the 20th Year Anniversary in 2028.

Explore the bios below and opportunities to join. All roads lead to Backwoods. No event is too small or too big as we scale and build capacity. Nobody is too old or too young with our business model. Whether you’re coming back to the trail or just hearing about the festival for the first time, we welcome you join us in building the trail which leads to Backwoods.

Dr. Trevor Lane, 2008 Founder

Earlier this year, Dr. Lane showed me the work he’d done to rekindle the concept of Backwoods – more than a year of due diligence, research, planning, and relocating to come home. When he offered me the opportunity to join the team, it was easy to say he was ambitious and difficult to say “no.”

My experience with Backwoods Bash 1.0 in the first era created core memories for my family and informed my approach to community events in my professional career. My observations of Backwoods 2.0 in the second era serve as a reminder of what’s at stake. I know this will be a heavy lift, seemingly impossible at times, and we know there are skeptics out there. We have something to prove, for sure, but the opportunity to approach this with experience and intentionality to take the best of Backwoods into a new era is worth the effort.

Seeing the cancellation and ensuing devastation from Backwoods 2.0 in 2024 was like watching a family member hit rock bottom long after I went “no-contact.” Redemption or vindication don’t feel good when you see it harm your loved ones and community.

The Advisory Council serves as a non‑governing, founder‑aligned body that provides strategic guidance, cultural stewardship, and expert insight to Outlaw Entertainment Group and the Backwoods flagship.
